Tri-City Herald: Ams notch 4-1 win in Rimmer’s return

By Annie Fowler | Tri-City Herald

KENNEWICK, Wash. — Ty Rimmer’s return to Toyota Center did not go the way he had hoped.

The former Tri-City goalie, who was traded to Lethbridge during the offseason, got a warm reception before the game, but in the end, the Americans put friendship aside, handing the Hurricanes a 4-1 loss Friday night before a crowd of 4,083.

“In warmups there were mixed emotions,” said Rimmer, who finished with 24 saves. “Once the puck dropped, it was just another game. We really needed these two points. This is a tough building to come into. We needed a couple of more saves from myself.”

The Americans (3-3-0-0, 6 points), who host Victoria tonight, have won two in a row. The Royals (4-2-0-0, 8 points) dropped a 5-3 game to Spokane on Friday.
